Scott Watkins Kwik Kopy Knoxfield is one of the most compelling Kwik Kopy success stories in the network’s recent history. Since acquiring the 25-year-old Knoxfield centre in Melbourne, Scott recorded 140 per cent growth in his first year as owner, the highest result across Kwik Kopy’s entire national franchise network. This article first appeared in the February 2026 issue of ProPrint.

Who is Scott Watkins at Kwik Kopy Knoxfield?

Scott Watkins is the owner of Kwik Kopy Knoxfield and a former corporate marketing executive with over two decades of senior leadership experience.

He studied a Bachelor of Business before landing a job at Mercedes-Benz Australia Pacific, initially in inventory purchasing before progressing into the marketing team. He spent nearly 10 years leading national marketing functions there before being headhunted by Wurth Australia, a major global private company.

Over 14 years at Wurth, he led marketing and product strategy, introduced new systems and programs, and helped grow the business from $40 million to $200 million.

His background managing in-house graphic design and print production teams gave him a practical edge throughout the Kwik Kopy franchise owner candidate interview process.

What inspired Scott Watkins to own Kwik Kopy Knoxfield?

Scott found Kwik Kopy while scrolling his phone one night, looking at businesses for sale. He sent the listing to his dad and brother. Both agreed it was worth pursuing.

“I had my own graphic design team and my own print production team, so I was very familiar with print and, of course, graphic design from a marketing perspective. I’ve always enjoyed being in a tactile environment,” he said.

The first site didn’t work out. But Kwik Kopy Franchise team called a few days later, saying, “We don’t want to lose you.” By Sunday night of that same week, Scott had called the previous owner on Thursday and signed a new agreement.

How has Scott Watkins transformed Kwik Kopy Knoxfield?

Business leadership at Kwik Kopy Knoxfield meant starting the Kwik Kopy business transformation on day one. By 2 pm, new signage was going up, and landscapers were on site. That weekend, the entire space was overhauled: new furniture, desks, kitchen, freshly painted bathrooms, blinds, and full landscaping.

Equipment investment followed immediately. Kwik Kopy Knoxfield is the only Kwik Kopy franchise printer in Victoria with a Canon Colorado. Within six weeks, Scott had signed a deal with Konica Minolta, replacing existing printers with new digital presses and adding a rollover flatbed application table for wide format and signage work.

The business model shifted just as decisively. Moving from B2C to B2B, transport, trucking, and automotive are now core market segments. The centre served as the print partner for the Melbourne Build Expo, which attracted 30,000 visitors.

“We experienced 140 per cent growth in our first year, a record for Kwik Kopy in Australia,” Scott said.

In October 2025, Kwik Kopy Australia was acquired by Fortidia, a global business solutions group with €1.4 billion in FY2024 system-wide gross revenue across more than 3,130 centres worldwide. Kwik Kopy Australia retains its brand, leadership, and franchise teams under the new ownership.

“Long-term, I’m genuinely excited. I believe this will only benefit our brand, our systems, and ultimately our customers and staff,” Scott said.

What makes Kwik Kopy Knoxfield different under Scott’s leadership?

Kwik Kopy Knoxfield delivers customer-focused printing solutions by treating every client as a genuine business partner rather than a one-off order.

Scott brought graphic design in-house, added a customer service salesperson, and rebuilt the entire centre around a B2B service model focused on real marketing outcomes. He was recognised for these results, winning the 2025 ProPrint Emerging 50 award.

“I saw Kwik Kopy as a B2B partner, providing real marketing solutions, from pre-digital design to signage, targeting business-to-business customers,” he said.

What customer-focused strategies drive success at Kwik Kopy Knoxfield?

Print and design solutions Australia-wide depend on people as much as equipment. Scott built his team with the same care he gives to client work, specifically to avoid the constant staff churn he experienced in corporate life.

He recruited a print room helper who had never touched a printer before. One year in, Scott held a party with suppliers and the Kwik Kopy Australia team to mark what he describes as a “remarkable and incredibly humbling” year.

“My goal is to ensure my staff have fun, grow, learn, and earn a respectable income. It’s not just about me making money. It’s about supporting our staff and customers,” he said.

What print, signage, and design services are available at Kwik Kopy Knoxfield?
